If so, lets talk.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service (IKS) is seeking a self-motivated software engineer who is excited about creating innovative products, solving complex problems, and interacting with cutting edge open-source technology including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, ETCD, Istio, etc. The candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, and support the microservices responsible for cluster creation, deletion and updates, networking and ingress, API and CLIs, data modeling, and security compliance for a service that is revolutionizing the way organizations manage their applications and IT infrastructure.Required Technical and Professional Expertise2+ years of experience with a programming language such as Go, Java, C, C, Python1+ years of experience developing in the cloud and microservice architecture / containerizationObject-Oriented development and design principlesComputer Science fundamentals in data structures and problem solvingGreat communication skillsDevOps skillsPreferred Technical and Professional Expertise1+ years of experience developing in Go1+ years of experience using Kubernetes as an orchestration system.Experience using Docker to build and run applications.Experience with CI/CD frameworks including Jenkins and Travis CI.Experience owning and developing software in a production environmentExperience with concurrent programming and concepts like locks, threads, and semaphores.Experience with network/application protocols including HTTPS, TCP/UDP, ARP, and IPv4.Experience with distributed system concepts including load balancers, key/value databases, and controller/worker architectures.About Business UnitDigitization is accelerating the ongoing evolution of business, and clouds - public, private, and hybrid - enable companies to extend their existing infrastructure and integrate across systems.
