Title: Kafka and Flink Developer

Location: Austin, TX Initially remote

Duration: Full Time

Job Description:
  • A Sr. Software Engineer is primarily responsible for software & tools development and automation activities related to messaging platforms like Apache Kafka, Flink & NIFI. You will be providing expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connects, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy. You will work closely with other development, engineering, and operation teams who jointly work on key deliverables ensuring production scalability and stability. As an experienced engineer, you will develop and enhance the platform. Applicant should also have an excellent foundational knowledge of web/App tier (Tomcat/JAVA/Httpd, etc.) and be comfortable implementing Security, compliance industry standards, and best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required."
  • Minimum of 3+ years of software development experience (with a concentration in data-centric initiatives), with demonstrated expertise in leveraging standard development best-practice methodologies "Must have Minimum of 2 years of experience in building large-scale applications using open source technologies. Design and coding skills with messaging and Bigdata technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and NiFi."
  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on expertise with Java, other languages nice to have are C, Python, Go-Lang, as applicable."
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in production to meet all service level agreements (SLAs), including possible joint analysis sessions with the cross-region team, e.g., development team, production support team, infrastructure team."
  • Code & unit test system components and applications in a range of programming languages, including developing tools for automation of routine tasks using industry standard programming and scripting languages."
  • Deep knowledge of Unix/Linux"
  • Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for building highly distributed and parallelized systems."
  • Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies"
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong automation mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment"
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate the logic and implementation plan to team members & managers"
  • Quick learner; self-starter, detailed and thorough"
  • Payment processing background is a big plus."
