- We are looking for a skilled Senior-level NoSQL database engineer with disciplines that incorporate aspects of software systems engineering and operations.
- We are combining these skills to come up with better ways of managing and operating databases.
- Will be responsible for administration and maintenance of Aerospike NoSQL database
- Perform database upgrades, OS patching, performance tuning and support activities
- Create scripts to automate database maintenance and administration tasks.
- Understand upcoming database features and provide guidance to the application teams
- Benchmarking new features and their impact to the application availability and performance
- Participate in database capacity planning activities for new application features.
- Review application database design and provide critical feedback
- Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for database maintenance and production support activities
- Identify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operations problems on a large enterprise and mission critical applications
- Act as a mentor to team members onshore and offshore
- Define quarterly and yearly roadmap for the team and present it to the architecture, management and other stakeholders
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures w.r.t the database
- 8-10 years of experience with administration and support of Enterprise NoSQL databases like Aerospike, MongoDB etc.
- 8-10 years of experience in writing automation scripts, building application dashboards for proactive monitoring, setting up Alerts for early determination of the issues
- Experience with database backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, performance tuning activities
- In depth knowledge of database concepts, replication strategies and high availability architectures
- Familiarity with Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and tuning
- Development experience in one or more or programming languages such as .Net, Java, Powershell, Python, and Bash
- Working knowledge of logging aggregation tools such as Splunk, or similar tools
- Previous experience in using SALT or Ansible for automation of operational database tasks
- Financial services industry experience
- Experience with cloud providers like GCP, AWS
- Agile methodologies
- Strong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issues
- Extreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environment
- Gritty resolve to dig deeper into technical issues in a complex eco-system
- ‘A self-starter with the ability and confidence to independently resolve issues and bring results back to the team
