The Trading Technology team is responsible for handling Equity/Options/Futures/Fixed Income order management and market data for the entire firm. We are looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to working our dynamic and collegiate team.

What you are good at

  • The role will be at a Technical Director level, reporting to TTS SAVE SMD.
  • Spend 20% of your time in maintenance and development of SAVE Devops codebase (Python, C#, and bash) and infrastructure platforms (Aerospike, KX, ITRS, Mongo, RabbitMQ).
  • Support TTS SAVE Platform teams for automation needs.
  • Support TTS SAVE Devops team members with hands on expertise and assistance for technical issues.
  • Spend 30% of your time in an advisory role for TTS SAVE.
  • Spend 50% of your time in ideation, solution architecture, POC, tools development (python, C#, C, Java) for all TTS platforms (OM, FI, MDS, RDS).
  • Track and identify new technologies to solve the business problems.
  • Collaborate with developers and TDs to develop platform capabilities and Devops framework libraries (e.g. monitoring protos and libraries for event sourcing project), which will be used by platform
  • teams to build upon and automate.
  • Evangelize and influence adaptation of the Devops frameworks across TTS by working on pilot projects for respective platforms. Mentor team members and improve their technical skills as well as quantitative assessment skills for evaluating software quality and risk.
  • Pitch, influence and collaborate with firm-wide architecture teams to bring in open source and closed source tools to TTS.
  • Lead the technology road-map for SAVE Devops team.
  • Define, communicate and influence design/coding standards

What you have

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Linux or Windows system administration, troubleshooting and tuning.
  • Expertise in IP networking including TCP,UDP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, IP routing, etc.
  • Expertise in one or more of programming languages such as .net, java, c, bash, powershell, python.
  • Expertise in one or more of SQL, NoSQL databases.
  • Expertise in distributed systems and messaging architectures.
  • Helpful Skills:
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Agile methodologies

  • Strong influencing and leadership to drive results
  • Strong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issues
  • Extreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environment
