Responsibilities:
  • Key Roles and Responsibilities: Applies engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that require in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise. Network equipment testing and support role, while working closely with business partners and operations. The candidate is required to interface with stakeholders to understand and deliver Broadband Access and Wireless Transport Network use cases, conduct lab testing (e.g., functional and performance testing of L2/L3 services and provide related documentation - Test Plan, Test Report, Lab Design, and Deployment Guideline). May serve as subject matter expert during the deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering, and development.

Mandatory Skills Description:
  • 1 or more years of hands-on experience with networks, network protocols, and IP networks and at least five years of experience with wireless transport (microwave and millimeter-wave PtP and PtMP) through all phases of the development lifecycle
  • A strong understanding of radio technology in the areas of mobility and enterprise front-, mid-and backhaul use cases (in various configurations, including single- and dual-polarization; cross-polarization; space diversity; with and without adaptive coding modulation, automatic transmit power control; etc.)
  • The candidate must have strong communication skills both verbally and written, as well as strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance and prioritize work and work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous hands-on experience as a network or RF system tester in a lab test environment, with RF and layer 1/2/3 network test equipment from companies such as Viavi, Anritsu, Keysight, and Spirent
  • Working knowledge in the configuration and use of RF test lab componentry (e.g. circulators, power splitters, attenuators, directional and bidirectional couplers, etc.) and equipment/tools (e.g. spectrum and network analyzers, traffic generation, RF power meters, etc.), in designing and utilizing relevant test topologies

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with any/all of the following software tools: Expect, Perl, Linux, XML, CVS/SVN, Linux Shell Scripts, and TCL
  • Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, and/or Juniper configuration experience
  • Network and Hardware support experience as well as RF path design
  • Microwave Services Planning and Architecture
  • Transport Network Planning and Architecture
  • ISP-level data network experience
  • Hands-on experience with performance and security test gear
