The candidate will work alongside product management, development, and business stakeholders to drive a user-centered design approach. This role embodies a passionate, yet pragmatic design leader that can analyze customer needs and behaviors, identify problem solving opportunities, and successfully transform requirements into intuitive and elegant user experiences. Our core initiatives in the digital sales and marketing groups focus on brand sites consolidation and world class user interfaces this year and we are staffing up to make that a reality.GM has thousands of touch-points interacting with customers online (ex. buying accessories, racing, servicing cars, etc.) and each one has their own design which creates a lot of inconsistencies (ex. there are thee different versions of the payment calculator). GM is looking to streamline and create a unified customer experience in North America and South America .QUALIFICATIONS 9 years of work experience in roles of Sr. or Principal UX Designer encompassing a wide range of UX, IX, Visual and IA disciplines Bachelor or master’s degree in HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, Design or equivalent Must-have: Mastery of design tools such as Illustrator, XD and advanced prototyping tools such as Axure RP, Sketch etc. “Concept to Release” experience designing enterprise applications with technical users as well as customer facing projects; Comfortable with blank-slate initiatives as well as on-going established projects Experience working on cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams of designers, developers, project owners/managers, and business stakeholders Experience working with multiple Fortune 500 companies on similar projects Experience with Figma, Miro, Zeplin would be a plus Proven track record of working with technically complex systems and on multiple projects simultaneously Experience designing in a variety of form factors, including desktop, responsive web, and mobile platforms Solid understanding of how the user-centered design process drives design thinking and implementation Innovative data visualization skills Experience developing and executing on a UX research and usability testing roadmap with a clear understanding of usability heuristics Exemplary interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate designs, ideas, and concepts to team, IT & Business partners and influence key stakeholders History of championing and evangelizing UX best practices and design patterns, as well as firm working knowledge of usability principles and techniques Strong attention to detail and passionate problem solver with critical thinking skills Flexible in navigating projects within Agile and Waterfall development methodologies Fluency in i18n and localization best practices and WCAG Level AA accessibility requirement standards A strong portfolio of work demonstrating a history of creating user-centered designs that illustrate the ability to turn requirements into creative solutionsRESPONSIBILITIES Lead product design effort to break down business and IT requirements and user stories and turn them into intuitive user experiences that align fluidly with GM’s Customer Experience initiatives Design user-focused wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups, interaction models, style guides and clickable prototypes that elegantly illustrate a deep understanding of the user’s needs Build strong relationships with IT and business partners to ensure the user is well represented in the product development cycle Develop personas, user workflows / story boards and logical information architecture Ensure compliance with all standards of usability, design best practices and accessibility Take ownership and be a champion for the User Centered Design process Contribute design expertise and knowledge to pattern library FacResponsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic. Write or contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users. Correct errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced. Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program. Investigate whether networks, workstations, the central processing unit of the system, and/or peripheral equipment are responding to a program's instructions. Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language. Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer. Consult with and assist computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running computer programs. Perform unit testing Assist in system and user testing Fix errors and bugs that are identified in the course of testing. Qualifications: 3 – 7 (2 years min relevant experience in the role) years experience; Bachelor’s degree Should be proficient in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management.
