Remote Pilot/Data Analyst who is ready to join our growing and dynamic team in

Austin, TX. This position will involve the operation of Quadcopter drones to collect data and will involve aerial photography, mapping/surveying and inspections. Data processing experience including GIS, surveying, cartography, or engineering/modelling is highly desired.

The successful candidate will:
  • Act as drone pilot/operator on commercial drone efforts on behalf of GHD
  • Acquire and manage LiDAR, photography, and thermography data using multi-rotor aircraft
  • Process LiDAR, photography, and thermography data, depending on knowledge
  • Generate or coordinate deliverables, such as photo logs, videos, maps, figures, and survey drawings
  • Interface with internal and external clients on UAS capabilities and applications
  • Train new remote pilots

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • 2-year degree/diploma in science, engineering, or technology
  • Current FAA Part 107 Certificate
  • 2+ years of experience / 50+ hours of operating unmanned aircraft
  • Strong ability to interface with potential internal/external clients
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Some overnight travel may be required

Recommended :
  • 4-year degree or higher in science, engineering, or technology
  • Knowledge of advanced UAS data capture and processing methods, including photogrammetry, LiDAR, thermography
  • Knowledge of land surveying, GIS, or CADD
  • Experience with project management
