Job Description

As a Consultant supporting Data center and infrastructure software within Visa’s third party technology management, you will manage a variety of functions including partnering with technology stakeholders to assist with development, tracking and execution of multi-year technology and DC strategy, budget projection and execution, developing a baseline for major deals within Visa, writing business justifications, and execution to Visa procurement principles.

This position will gain an in-depth understanding of the business, strategic direction, organizational structure, and key vendor partnerships. You will help define success for IT financial efficiency and cost clarity programs by creating and tracking key metrics and developing consumption optimization programs.

Essential Functions

  • Assist product owners with execution of technology strategy, keeping a view of the operating expense impact of key decisions
  • Run SQL scripts to extract data from multiple data sources and have ability to normalize data based on product owner feedback
  • Identify expense reduction opportunities with product owners and create plans and tracking to ensure execution of cost reduction strategies.
  • Review demand for new purchases with product owners, validate that the demand aligns with technology strategy and present analytics to compare Visa’s usage of similar products within the category
  • Manage spend for Compute SW lane with specific knowledge to adherence to key Visa procurement rules while identifying strategies for purchases that do not meet the rules
  • Identify appropriate data sources to track deployment of assets across Visa and use the information across multiple sources to create infrastructure baseline
  • Lead the team in delivering work products on consumption reports as well as other key initiatives that will help the Technology EVP to make strategic decisions
  • Create and manage the budget for the IT technology lanes working in close partnership with the IT engineering teams and Business analytics team
  • Create and run models to review data center cost and present options for Visa leadership
  • Work closely with Technology partners to understand the technical detailsfor IT purchases and create business justification for purchases

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business or related field or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Data Analysisin an IT environment
  • U.S. work authorization:Visa will not sponsor in connection with this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with large data sets and analysis. Pulling data from disparate data sources, normalizing and analyzing cost and other metrics.
  • Proven success in creating product strategies through deep option and sensitivity analysis
  • Experience in working with third party vendors
  • Exhibit leadership capabilities to drive large-scale projects with ambiguous scope into refined deliverables for executive consumption
  • Must have technical background and interest to understand the key infrastructure products
  • Must have strong quantitative skills & experience taking raw data and drawing actionable insights from it
  • Be vision and process oriented
  • Understanding of data centers and IT frameworks preferred
  • Must have prior experience in creating cost transparency and cost clarity programs for CIO/CTO office
  • Demonstrated capability in working with large virtual teams
  • Ability to collect and analyze relevant quantitative and qualitative data sets
  • Strong communication skills including written, oral, and presentation abilities
  • Business and technical writing skills; executive level presentation skills
  • Organizational agility and the ability to influence stakeholders and various levels of senior leadership

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
