The Client Experience Technology (CET) team is responsible for leading a coordinated technology approach to developing and maintaining Schwab's primary digital channels. Our goal is to create a seamless experience across our mobile, web and downloadable platforms that are powerful yet simple for our customers to use. Integral to a highly scalable yet customized suite of platforms is the need for a strong CSS, Accessibility, and User Experience offering within technology.

What you are good at

We are looking for a talented SR Software Developer, to join the Client Experience Utilities (CEU) team. This individual should have a passion for keeping up-to-date and using cutting-edge web technologies to build interactive web applications. The job will include acting as a Release Manager for multiple project teams, support the various DevOps aspects associated with these applications including build and deployment, production support and monitoring, security, and infrastructure remediation, and debugging and resolving production issues. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in a comparable position, demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, agile environment and capable of working across a large enterprise.

What you have

  • At least 8-years of professional software, experience, working in Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Experience working with agile methodology on large scale, technically complex projects for a large enterprise.
  • Proven experience developing creative solutions and from-scratch solutions to reduce toil, improve detection, or offer self-healing solutions for a 24x7 high-availability customer facing application suite.
  • Experience with cloud Services like AWS /Azure/PCF.
  • Experience with Akamai Delivery and Certificate Management.
  • Experience with one of these scripting languages: PowerShell, Python
  • Passion and ability to communicate DevOps principles and the importance of their role in the SDLC to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent debugging skills across a variety of integrated platforms.
  • Expertise with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, AppDynamics) and best practices for API monitoring methodology.
  • Deep familiarity with Web Services technologies (REST, SOAP) and proven experience implementing monitoring that tells the whole picture of application health.
  • Relentless commitment to the stability and availability of production and lower environments.
  • The ability to troubleshoot anything (you've never met a problem you couldn't solve).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience including senior management as well as proven ability to make remediation recommendations for both in-scope applications and other upstream/downstream dependencies.
  • Partner with peer Release Managers to deliver a comprehensive plan and ensure delivery excellence across the application portfolio.
  • Assist Product Owners and Project Managers with release planning.
  • Coordinate the release during the release night.
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo)
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following toolchains: Chef, Puppet, Salt stack, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Experience with MongoDB, Redis and SQL Server
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry), AWS is a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Domain Experience in Financial services Industry is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner who can manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
  • Able to mentor other team members and actively participate in Technical Governance sessions and Design discussions
