Schwab's Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) engineering team is a fast-growing organization within Schwab Technology Services. The team plays a critical role in supporting the technology modernization needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM), Investor Advice Solutions (IAS), the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR), and Third-Party Platform teams.

What you are good at

You will be an essential member of the Foundational Technology and Data (FTD) team responsible for modernizing our data infrastructure. The team is developing an Integration Fabric to enable data discovery, creation of data products and efficient data integration. You will work on development of automated testing for all the essential components of the Fabric and deliver robust and high-quality data integration and fabric management processes that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.

You will play a critical role in supporting key stakeholders across the Investor Advice Solutions organization which is focused on high-net worth and ultra-high net worth retail investors. Supported business functions include Schwab Private Client Investment Advisory, Inc. (SPCIA), the Investor Solutions Group (ISG), and Specialty Wealth Consulting (SWC).

Some key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement automated testing for FTD.
  • Identify test automation strategies and tools.
  • Influence, develop and execute on QA process and best practices.
  • Drive continuous integration and deployment strategies.
  • Provide critical inputs during estimation/sizing efforts.
  • Partner effectively with Application Architects, Engineers, and Business partners.
  • Represent the team in various forums related to the design and development of the Fabric.

What you have

  • A university degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining automated testing.
  • 3+ years of SDET experience in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following languages - Java, Python, JavaScript, C#.
  • Experience testing REST APIs for data intensive applications.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and open-source test automation tools.
  • Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn & become proficient with new technologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, communication, and negotiation.
