Responsibilities:- Requirements: Understand the end user and capture their needs, pain points, and how to address those. Distill specifications from industry standards and shape the product design for compliance
- Design: Craft high level system designs, review other’s designs and create board schematics with component selection for industrial environments, maximizing value while optimizing for cost
- Implementation: Support CAD/Layout experts by providing constraints and layout considerations, integrating your board into the overall product. Develop prototype/proof-of-concept layouts independently as needed
- Validation: Create test plans and perform board bring-up, mods, EMI/EMC testing, functional testing, I/O validation, system and environmental testing as needed with measurement equipment or lab support
- Innovation: Ideate and create new concepts to solve old problems, find better ways to develop products in terms of reliability, adaptability, testability, maintainability, etc.
- Collaboration: Engage with colleagues in the US and in the UK as part of an agile hardware/firmware team. Lead by example and excel with a dynamic team in a highly collaborative environment
- Delivery: Realize the product vision on time and on budget by identifying risk areas and developing/executing creative risk mitigation measures to counteract obstacles and delays
- Problem Solving: Support identifying and resolving issues that arise in production or deployment, occasionally travelling to customer sites for analysis on-premises as needed
- BS/BA in Electronics Engineering or related STEM discipline
- Demonstrable experience and results in electronics development
- Working knowledge in high-speed signal circuit design, EMC/EMI, thermal effects, schematic and PCB layout, board bring-up, stress testing, and measurement equipment; experienced with industrial requirements
- Proven multitasking ability to work both independently as well as in a team setting
- Firsthand experience with Mentor Xpedition for schematic and PCB layout creation
- Firsthand experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for creating assembly drawings
- Firsthand experience developing firmware on Linux platform, C programming, and FPGAs
