As a member of the Enterprise Middleware and Online Security Technology team (EMOST), you will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. We're looking for engineers who are enthusiastic about learning new and existing technologies to deliver exceptional software solutions. The role will require a strong work ethic, problem solving skills and the ability to partner with business and technologists across the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building and supporting enterprise web applications. The role will require a high level of responsibility and accountability yet has a support structure necessary for development growth.

What you are good at

  • Deliver highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets/timelines while ensuring alignment to strategic technology vision
  • Interface with your cross-functional team to ensure implementations meet business requirements, solution architecture and design
  • Investigate the current-state solution to identify and resolve challenges
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
  • Understand, advocate, and augment the platform principles, guidelines and standards
  • Work with the SCRUM master and product owner to provide development sizing & cost analysis estimates
  • Work closely with product owner and team members to decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks
  • Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to development, coding, testing and automation standards
  • Analyze the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and identify new opportunities for the enterprise
  • Deliver new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
  • Collaborate with peers and partners on a Scrum team to deliver software release sprints on time with a focus on quality
  • Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery
  • Approach challenges with humor and humility, bringing thoughtful participation and collaboration

What you have

  • Bachelor's Degree or master's degree in Computer Science.
  • 8+ years demonstrated real world experience in object-oriented or web languages.
  • Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture
  • Strong DevOps Experience: Development and maintenance of CI/CD Pipeline
  • Implements standard automation and software quality patterns based on industry best practices.
  • Experience doing proof of concepts and reviewing designs with Lead Developers and Architects.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and persuade peers
  • Ability to propose and estimate the impact of solution alternatives
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Ability to understand technology alternatives and when to apply them
  • Ability to embrace modern architecture paradigms to maximize architectural agility
  • Ability to establish metrics to measure improvement
  • Displays intellectual curiosity and integrity
  • Motivated and driven by achieving long-term business outcomes

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java, Java Core, Spring, Hibernate and understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language)
  • Experience coding in Angular, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, bootstrap, backbone
  • Experience developing/managing REST and SOAP-based Web Service API(s) in a transaction processing environment
  • Experience with distributed multi-tier applications, WMI, NoSQL databases, MongoDB and/or SQL is preferred
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Knowledge of Web Content Management Systems
  • Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
