The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. The CAPCOG Homeland Security Division supports local communities in planning, organizing, and responding to natural and man-made disasters by providing training and coordination, regional tools, and funding focused on preparedness, response and recovery activities.

The Homeland Security Division is seeking candidates to join their team as the Crisis Information Systems Coordinator. This positions main responsibility is the regional Emergency Notification System (ENS) and the WebEOC CIMS. Work includes ensuring the operation, administration, maintenance and security of the systems; maintaining user credentials and contact lists; providing help desk support; and continual evaluation of the CIMS related web and mobile applications for further needed requirements and improvements. This position develops and coordinates end user instructions on the CIMS applications.

Education: Associates degree with course work in emergency management, information systems, or related area is required.

Experience:

Required: One year of experience in emergency management, public safety, information systems, or related area is required.

Preferred: Work experience with emergency management related software, web programming, web applications, and programming languages such as TML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.

Salary: $52,000 - $56,000 depending on qualifications
