Job Title: Marketing: Digital Design System Manager

Duration: 12 Months (With high possibility of extension)Location: REMOTE (Austin, TX)

Description:The Digital Marketing team at Client impacts millions of investors each year through modern digital experiences across key channels. By focusing on answering investor’s questions and driving trust and engagement, we’re a key part of helping them reach their financial goals.As part of this responsibility, we’re in a multi-phase effort to migrate, transform and elevate how we deliver modern wealth management across digital channels.In this role, you’ll be a critical lead on the team responsible for developing, optimizing and championing the use of our new Digital Design System (DDS) to ensure cohesive and compelling digital experiences for investors.This includes defining, implementing and maintaining design guidelines, assets and business requirements as well as supporting and guiding creative agency partners and marketers who leverage this system.You’ll be the front line for ensuring consistent and exceptional digital experiences are implemented by continuing to evolve and refine this critical design system and driving programs that support its effectiveness. What you’re good at:• Digital Design System Management:You have a proven ability to plan and lead the design, development, implementation andoptimization of DDS assets including; best practices, strategies, standards, technical specs, and other tools/features, to result in a scalable and effective design system for building a range of digital experiences.Experience with implementing a design system within a Content Management System (Drupal) a plus.

• Digital Strategy & Creative Design:You possess sharp design, storytelling and technical skills to drive clarity and forward thinking solutions in complex development and creative scenarios across a range of channels and marketing use cases.Your rationale is always informed by content strategy, UX/UI best practices, data and insights to ensure the effectiveness of the system - to achieve business goals and the best user experience possible.

• Governance & Optimization:You have an innate aptitude for governance including; planning, structure, process, and documentation.You’re detailed yet system-minded with an ability to innovate, optimize and govern all levels of a DDS, from specific design guidelines to macro global principles and approaches.Including a strong analytic perspective to help validate and optimize the system through tracking, testing and research.

• Communication:You have a track record of excellent verbal and written communication skills that leads new thinking, and drives adoption and action with others.Driving change management to gain buy-in will be a significant focus of this role through creative direction with agency partners, marketers and their stakeholders.Demonstrated skills in promoting understanding and the benefits of implementing a design system to drive value for the end user and business is critical.

• Collaboration:You thrive in cross-functional teams of diverse experts - Developers, Designers, Content Strategists, Marketers and others and successfully build meaningful connections across all parties to deliver results. • To support the Client digital design system at Client. Requirements:A digital design system manager knows what the top design systems are (Carbon, Material, Polaris, etc.) and understands atomic design principles and value.Their job in this role is to communicate and champion the Client digital design system (Client) and activate it across multiple marketing teams and their agency partners.• Bachelor’s degree required.• 2-5 years of experience in Digital Design System Marketing• 10+ years of digital marketing experience required with formal training in design, content strategy and UX/UI.• Experience with building and maintaining a Digital Design system. Specific experience with Drupal and large scale site migration is a plus.• Innate modern aesthetic with an ability to articulate design intent, content strategy, UX/UI best practices, in context of business objectives.• Data driven and analytical focus; ability to drive new thinking and hypothesis, synthesize qualitative and quantitative data, identify feasible options and evaluate strategic trade-offs.• Highly adaptable, team player with superb verbal and written communication specifically, in framing problems, ability to present options and rationale clearly and concisely.• Detail-oriented, organized and methodical approach with an ability to multitask, troubleshoot and coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders and timelines to successful execution.• Experience in a financial services or highly-regulated environment is beneficial.• History of creating and delivering design tools/guidelines: brand standards, guidelines, education, training and communication planning.• Some formal education in Digital (UX) design and experience with technical implementation – specifically working with developers to achieve a business outcome/value.• This person will demonstrate clear communication skills and be outgoing with a natural ability to enable, teach and motivate people.• This person will be a self-starter and able to work in ‘grey’ areas and chart their own course with a strategic/structured approach Nice to have skills:• Certification as a scrum product owner (Scrum Alliance) is ideal, indicating that this individual understands agile processes and digital product ownership.
