The Texan is a state-level, right of center digital multi-media political news organization that sheds light on the stories that matter to average Texans and their pocketbooks and emphasizes the role state and local politics play in their daily lives.
Our quality, fact-based content is presented from a right of center worldview, but our "who, what, where, and when" approach to news stories appeal to people who fall anywhere on the political spectrum.
The Texan operates as a for-profit business which delivers content that is of value and interest to its customers the readers.
We are looking for bright, focused, and driven individuals who share our passion for a free press, limited government, and a stronger Texas.
Media and Marketing Assistant
This person will:
Report directly to the Marketing Manager
Operate in the inner-workings marketing The Texan day-to-day
Manage and maintain The Texans primary social media accounts
Promote news stories with basic Facebook advertising
Create unique ways to share relevant information from articles on Instagram
Produce quick-hit videos (requires basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro)
For podcasting: assist with setting up equipment, recording, and post-production workflow
Assist with special projects as needed
Details:
25 hours a week
$15/hour
Must be willing to commute to downtown Austin, TX
