Position: Senior Software Engineer Contract: Contract to Hire Location: Remote, then onsite in Austin, TX Industry: HealthcareTOP REQUIREMENTS: a. At least 3 years of experience in working with one or more of the programming languages - Ruby, Python or Java b. 1-2 years of experience in working with Public Cloud preferably Azure c. 2+ years of experience in working with databases and writing SQL QueriesIDEAL BACKGROUND: An ideal candidate must have very good analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should have experience in working with large-scale products and is familiar with horizontal scaling and high throughput systems. He/she must have a deep understanding of architectural, design patterns and contribute to the projects worked. Has an in-depth understanding of SDLC areas like IDEs, source code management, CI/CD and must have a DevOps mindset.Responsibilities: Be a core contributor of code, tests, automation, application design, and architecture on a small team of engineers working across the stack Solve tough technical problems at any level of the stack (Backend/ Frontend/ Database/ Infrastructure) and be persistent in getting to the solution. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute engineering and product objectives Learn and Share - Deeply values learning as a continuous investment and share knowledge within and across teams Mentor junior engineers in the team, providing technical guidance and supportSkills/Attributes Required: At least 5 years of experience in building software applications Experience in working with one or more object-oriented languages like Java, Ruby, Python or JavaScript and proficient in at least one of the languages Experience in working with databases and proficient in writing and finetuning SQL queries Experience in building cloud-based infrastructure and applications in public cloud environment preferably Azure. (eg. Terraform, Cloud Formation) Experience with RESTful API design, Microservices Experience in setting up CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Bamboo Strong collaboration you have built and documented applications for optimal co-development and are well Have a strong understanding of Agile methodologiesSkills/Attributes Preferred: Experience building containerized applications with Docker/Kubernetes Experience in working with queues and stream processing like Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Google pub-sub Experience in working with front-end JavaScript libraries like Angular, React etc.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
