Fortune 500 client seeks to fill multiple Technician roles located in a world-class high-tech manufacturing facility in Austin. Candidates will develop a functional proficiency for site equipment which includes chemical, slurry, and gas delivery systems. Responsibilities
- Technicians work on systems and maintain a supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as Smart Phones, LEDs, and Flat Screen TVs
- Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, with duties including:
- Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
- Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
- Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
- Support of quality systems
Qualifications
If you have previous experience in Manufacturing, Gas and Oil, Chemical Technician, Industrial Mechanics, Production Technician, Bio-Tech, Automotive and Mechanics, Waste and Wastewater Treatment, Power Plant, or Refinery this could be a great fit for you!
- Prior experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is very helpful
- Prior experience as an equipment technician or a mechanical/electronic environment is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Military training is welcomed
- Strong technical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
Physical Attributes:
- Walking up to 5+ miles per day
- Occasionally climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to off-load chemicals into a drum
- In some cases, Technicians must put on Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes)
- Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
- Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
- Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) made available to Technicians includes safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, chemical apron, gloves, etc.
- Fit for Duty Evaluation will be required prior to reporting and annually which includes: Pulmonary Function Test for wearing a respirator, audiogram baseline for wearing hearing protection, and physical exam
Benefits
- Hourly pay of $21.68 per hour plus 10% night shift differential (about $48K+ annually with compressed schedule overtime)
- New hires are required to complete paid hazardous communication training (Right to Know) before being released to manufacturing floor (There are no planned activities or work in which a worker is exposed to any of the products used onsite)
- Additional on-the-job training for quickly learning critical technical skills to excel in this role and be considered for converting to permanent as determined by supervisors and business needs
- A variety of shifts are available, such as day, night, 5-day, and compressed shifts (3 days on, 4 days off / 4 days on, 3 days off) based on business needs, overtime is available as well (Shift needs are determined by the business)
