The role will be looking at new innovative ways to generate value out of our Big Data repositories. There will be a large scope for a think-outside-the-box strategy, with a real chance to make a difference. The role will expose you to new technologies and modern advanced data engineering techniques.

Acting as an internal consultant to internal/external groups and delivery resources, will provide directional guidance for data projects on utilizing the right system of record for data sourcing and information access.

This person must have strong leadership skills and the ability to plan and execute in a complex, fast-paced environment. Candidates must have high energy, dedication, and expert-level skills.

In working with the team, will be focused on collaboration and encouragement to create exciting and cutting edge data integrations solutions that will establish new ways to execute in existing or new data and analytics platforms.

  • Relevant experience demonstrating skills in research and analysis, and have experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools

  • Proven ability to analyze requirements and clearly communicate those requirements to both business and technical stakeholders in many forms such as verbally, presentations and solution technical documentation such high level and detailed technical design documents
  • Strategic foresight: Foster a consistent understanding of strategy, translate it into defined plans, and "stay the course" to implement it, while anticipating and identifying where change is needed
  • Good expertise in impact analysis due to changes or issues
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Experience leading complex projects in a distributed IT environment with teams of company and contractor resources including communicating and collaborating effectively with all global regions in a federated organization
  • Provide proactive technical oversight and mentorship to our teams fostering data re-use, design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency
  • Proactively identify opportunities that accelerate delivery and drive down operational costs through cross-product data services
  • Work with various system and application groups to understand their data and how it can be sourced into a common format for reporting and analytics
  • Participate in tool evaluation, pilots and selection

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or high school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 14 years experience extracting requirements from business stakeholders using a variety of techniques including facilitating cross-functional requirement gathering sessions
  • Minimum of 10 years experience sourcing, organizing, maintaining and ultimately democratizing data through the development of innovative design techniques, tools and well-organized databases
  • Minimum of 12 years hands on experience with design, development and support of data consolidation and movement programs to take disparate data sources and consolidate them into an integrated data repository
  • 10+ years hands on Programming experience with Java/Python, Unix scripting, SQL
  • Minimum of 5 years of Infrastructure background (sys admin)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in operations and/or Systems Administration experience, particularly on UNIX/Linux and Windows.
  • Able and willing to work on call will be required from time to time
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related field
  • Experience with Agile methods and tools (Jira, Git, Jenkins & Artifactory) for code management and deployment of software
  • Working knowledge of a visual data exploration tools e.g. Tableau or Power BI
  • Intermediate level of MS Excel skills, including formulas, VBA, Macros and data tables
  • Experience in the Payments / Card / Banking industry and familiarity with payments processing data constructs
  • Web development experience
  • ELK stack development experience. Proficient querying Elasticsearch
  • Understanding of existing & emerging data technologies
