Job Title: Database Developer/Engineer

Duration: 18 Months

Location: Austin TX, 100% REMOTE

Job Description:Supervises all changes and additions to data repository change requested by application development teams. Assumes overall responsibility for the management of assigned database products with 24-hour emergency technical support.Evaluates corporate-wide system to improve system performance and functionality.Performs maintenance tasks on existing test and production environments that include modifying database sizes, migrating changes through various environments. Designs, tests, and implements backup, recovery, and restart procedures for assigned databases; monitors and assures DASD requirements and problem resolution.Associates degree OR equivalent experience.Minimum 6 years as a database administrator.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Will design, develop, test, implement and maintain new and existing databases.
  • Will create management methods and systems to access efficiently to information stored in databases.
  • Will create functional requirements to modify databases and products as required by client needs.
  • Will provide data management support, create reports on databases and will design and develop database architectures.
  • Must have methods for problem-solving, have strong database experience, including index strategies, performance tuning, and optimization and stored procedures.
  • Must be able to create reports and write complex statements for large-scale databases.
  • Needs to be a good communicator (both written and verbal), be able to plan technical solutions, be self-motivated, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required Skills:
  • Need an experienced Database Engineer/Architect with hands-on experience in the design and development of both PL/SQL (Oracle) and T-SQL (MS SQL) databases.
  • Expertise in Design / Development of database systems - Knowledge of Implementation / Management of features in Oracle database such as multi-node Real Application, Disaster Recover (DR), and Scalability is a nice to have.
  • Experience in security aspects of Data Management, Governance, Storage, Encryption methodologies, and GDPR implementation is nice to have.
  • Data modeling experience utilizing Erwin is desired. –
  • Experience in developing stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views as well as creating scripts to build new database objects is required. –
  • Data partitioning and Trigger creation experience is desired. –
  • The ability to analyze fix performance bottlenecks is highly desirable. –
  • Proficiency in Database version Upgrades/Migrations/Patches (e.g. the ability to complete the tasks required to upgrade an Oracle database from 11g to 19C) is highly desired.
