Your Opportunity

The mobile technology team is responsible for designing, building, supporting and involving client-facing native mobile apps for Charles Schwab. We have been a key partner working with product teams to deliver excellent client experience to the millions of Schwab users.

As a lead member, you will work in one or more product channels to build mobile apps that meet and exceed client's needs, work closely with product teams to pair your mobile technology knowledge with product knowledge to create creative and innovative solution that thrill customers and disrupt competitors. Use leadership and technical skills to guide our Shift-Left efforts, participating in the QA CoE and framework development to achieve the organizational goals. What you are good at

  • Being a hands-on advocate and leader for Test Automation and driving continuous integration and deployment strategies with a DevOps philosophy and a shift-left approach
  • Setting and communicating automation strategies and processes for web services, APIs, middleware, UI etc., evaluate and implement software test automation tools and tooling standards
  • Building automation frameworks to increase reuse and reduce effort
  • Increasing automation cycle execution run times and decreasing manual analysis of results
  • Keeping automation current, flexible and designed to work within a continuous integration / deployment framework
  • Developing methods and procedures to create automation test data and data refresh capabilities
  • Assisting developers with Robust unit/component/ commit/ build and deploy/CI/CD test automation as needed
  • Recommending relevant and automated dynamic reports and metrics that measure the success of automation efficiency and quality, and provide action items for continuous improvements
  • Interacting with various levels of individual contributors and management to educate and influence
  • Collaborating with Automation CoE authorities to plan, design, mange, report and prioritize software test automation solutions along with Dev and QA engineers
  • Implementing and leading Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment strategies
  • Maintaining tools used in the Automation development including source control, test management and release systems
  • Influencing developing and executing QA process and testing best practices
  • Being a leader in enabling teams to use TDD/BDD/ATDD using Gherkin/Ruby/Cucumber

What you have

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years in Mobile Application Development
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • 4+ years of developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Experience with XCUI and/or Espresso
  • Hands-on coding experience with Java, Kotlin, SWIFT, or other object -oriented programming languages
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard tools for logging bugs and managing test cases (e.g., JIRA/MTM, Zephyr/HPQ)
  • Proven ability to successfully balance and deliver multiple geographically distributed QA projects with concurrent releases
  • Solid understanding of Mobile Development on iOS and/or Android devices
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and Lean DevOps methodologies
  • Financial/Trading services industry experience is a plus
  • Great teammate with good communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testing organizations and Business teams
  • Experience in developing or influencing the development of automated framework(s) for enterprise level functional and regression testing is preferable
  • Working knowledge of Agile, Iterative development process and/or Rational Unified Process development methodologies is important
  • Experience in BDD,TDD or ATDD design techniques.
  • Passion for building solutions through automation, inspired by innovation and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Strong programming, debugging/troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies, Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Hip Chat)
  • Ability to think creatively and come up with creative solutions when tools don't work
  • Ability to effectively persuade, negotiate and influence all levels of staff; excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Motivation and passion to stay on top of new and emerging test and automation technologies and able to provide direction to test teams
