Job Description:Worker will perform these Tasks:
  • Implement and administer Linux services, Patching, security policies, standards, and procedures in coordination with TxDOT Security and Information Security Service Component Provider
  • Interface with Service Provider support as needed, including opening tickets with TxDOT Vendors when support is needed
  • Participate in the annual review of machine plans and workload forecasts with TxDOT (the Service Provider shall include long-range technology forecasts and technology refresh planning in this capacity planning process to ensure that TxDOT will realize the full benefits of technology and performance trends)
  • Advise (or manage) any upgrade or configuration change of an existing operating system
  • Test new versions of machines, operating system, and software prior to recommending the implementation of these products for TxDOT
  • Work with and provide input on solutions from TxDOT and DCS Solution Architects
  • Provide Linux Run support for all TxDOT data centers, cloud experience
  • Work with Applications tower to implement any applications changes and upgrades
  • Manage ticket queues as appropriate.
  • Create / Advise on processes.
  • Participate on call rotation Manage
  • Ability to work with Multiple vendors
  • Assist in audit processes

REQUIRED:
  • At least 3 years of experience managing Linux environments and servers (Redhat)
  • Ansible experience

PREFERRED:
  • 5 years of managing Linux environments and servers (Redhat)
