Senior Software Engineer - CoStar Austin, TX Company Overview:CoStar is the owner of Lands of America, Land and Farm, Land Watch and Land.com and is the leading operator of online marketplaces that support the sale and purchase of farms, ranches, country homes, and rural land. Our customers include real-estate brokers, real-estate agents, owners, and investors who need internet listing services and information to help them sell/purchase properties and track competitive trends.CoStar is currently seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer in our Austin office where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting high performance and high availability web applications that will drive the growth of our Land business unit. In this role you will:- Use React, Typescript, C#, ASP.NET Core, TFS /Git, Sass/CSS, SQL and JavaScript, and a host of other technologies to design, develop, test, debug and implement web APIs, web applications, software tools, and utilities
- Determine systems software design requirements
- Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
- Help transition from current systems to new large-scale systems that are aligned with CoStar's software engineering policies, standards and procedures
- Analyze technical requirements and design new components, web pages and controls to meet functional, performance and availability requirements.
- Design ASP.NET Core MVC based applications using React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript that are highly performant, maintainable and reusable.
- Design and develop using software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability.
- Apply software design patterns, sound quality management methods, tools, and techniques to create and support defect-free application software that meets the needs of the organization
- Develop database stored procedures and SQL scripts
- Maintain and support existing products.
- BA/BS Degree (Completed)
- 4+ years of development experience in business environment
- Expert knowledge of C# 5+, ASP.NET MVC and .NET
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and stored procedure development Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript ES6, Typescript, HTML5/CSS
- Adaptability/ability to work with deadlines.
- Experience working within an Agile team environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of SOLID principals and design patterns
- Masters /MBA (completed)
- Experience with software testing (Unit, Integration, Functional, Performance)
- Experience with Visual Studio 2017, Azure DevOps and Git
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Expert knowledge of React, Redux, SPA architecture
- Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas within and across teams
- Ability to work well with other developers and management
- Ability to juggle priorities and work with minimal supervision or assistance to complete tasks
- Awareness of emerging technologies and a natural curiosity around new tools and techniques
