Schwab is recruiting a driven, results-oriented Software Development Engineer who shares our passion for technology, innovation and excellence. Our main goal here at Schwab is to transform people's lives by changing the way the world invests. We are in the midst of re-architecting and rebuilding our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business. We are moving towards a Test-Driven development and Continuous Integration environment using Bamboo and Bitbucket. The engineer will be a hands-on developer that excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment and is passionate about developing high quality, high performance, and scalable software. Successful candidate to be responsible for individual coding contributions to the team. The candidate will work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases. This position will be part of Digital Account Open at Schwab and we will focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency. The model is insights-driven and focuses on rapid iterations to drive innovation and transformation. What you are good at- Above all else you're an engineer and a full stack tester (Data-Services-UI). You solve problems through automation. You're curious and hungry to learn new things and look to make a long lasting impact on the project.
- You tested complex systems in the past. You have experience testing web applications (Angular) and data (SQL). You know how to create your own REST services (in any language), and are familiar with parsing JSON and XML.
- You have experience working in an Agile environment. Iterative test development and working as part of a distributed engineering team doesn't scare you.
- You contribute to open source projects. If you have github.com contributions - we'd love to check them out
- You're lifelong learner. You're able to grasp difficult concepts and complex designs and stays on top of new and emerging technologies. Do you have a stackoverflow.com account?
- 5+ years of strong, demonstrable experience working as software developer or SDET using C# or Java programming language
- Experience writing automation testing for web applications
- Experience testing RESTful web using test automation frameworks. Ability to parse nested JSON/ XML. SOAP experience a plus.
- Experience using 'git' as source control system (cherry-pick, merge conflict resolution should be second nature to you)
- Experience working in CI/CD environment. (Bamboo) One should be able to create, modify and execute job from scratch using 'git' as source
- Experience working with acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Gherkin languages like Cucumber, Cucumber-jvm, Cucumber-js, SpecFlow, Serenity
- Comfort with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr Tests)
- Experience with .Net core, Angular, MongoDB, SQL Server, PCF, Bamboo, Bitbucket is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar area of study
- Financial Services experience is a strong plus
