Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC BAS (Building Automation System) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and be familiar with industry-standard BAS systems. As an HVAC BAS Systems Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC controls and related systems. You will work closely with building owners, facility managers, and other technical personnel to ensure the HVAC systems are operating efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems including, but not limited to, air handling units, HVAC chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and fans.

Work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to provide control solutions for complex HVAC systems.

Maintain and repair existing BAS systems to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot control system and device malfunctions and resolve issues quickly.

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC control systems as needed.

Survey and troubleshoot HVAC situations and make recommendations to building owners on relevant control systems improvements.

Maintain effective communication with building owners and managers to coordinate system schedules and minimize business disruptions.

Maintain inventory of required parts and ensure their availability at the job site.

Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.

Use software applications to program or reprogram control systems.

Keep up to date with new products and technologies, troubleshoot and stay up to date with industry trends.

Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in HVAC BAS systems or building automation systems.

Experience in installation, programming and maintaining HVAC control systems.

Knowledge of industry-standard BAS systems such as Tridium, Siemens, etc.

Knowledge of HVAC systems, including cooling/heating systems, air handling units (AHUs), and chillers.

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a team environment or independently.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HVAC industry-specific software.

Willingness to work outside normal business hours and on weekends when necessary.

High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in HVAC is preferable but not necessary.
