- Create and implement visual, UI, and UX designs for web assets that benefit customers and members.
- Gather and evaluate user requirements independently or in collaboration with business analysts, researchers, etc.
- Perform UX research for various projects and deliverables.
- Develop UI design mockups, storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, and prototypes that clearly illustrate site behaviors, requirements, and design.
- Conduct usability tests to continuously identify and refine UX needs, issues, and designs.
- Contribute to and lead design of entire websites and UI elements.
- Ensure all digital properties and channels follow best practices with regard to accessibility, usability, mobile optimization, page weight, and other industry and legal standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed UI/UX specifications and documentation.
- Evolve, advocate for, and adhere to design system and brand standards.
- Contribute to projects as part of a team from a design perspective, and mentor print designers on digital best practices.
- Prepare and present designs to stakeholders and teams.
- Coordinate with development, content managers, project managers, business analysts, IT, and other project resources.
- Lead key internal meetings, including daily and weekly status updates and planning sessions.
- Proactively assess situations, formulate necessary and timely solutions to achieve desired results.
- Nurture and build internal client relationships to foster a healthy and productive project team environment.
- In this role you will serve as the sole UI/UX designer on a dedicated digital team with UI developers, a project manager, content manager, and digital marketing specialist.

- Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
- Understand and execute the user-centered design process and key UX design principles, including accessibility, usability, and brand expression.
- Proficient at creating UX design artifacts, including site maps, personas, wireframes, design comps, lo- and hi-fi prototypes, etc.
- Advanced experience with and understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools (InVision, Sketch, etc.).
- Proven design chops for visual layout, grids, typography, etc.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and technology that supports UX design.
- An eye for details.
- Creative, critical thinker and customer-centered solution-finder in the midst of ambiguity, complexity, and uncharted territory.
- Portfolio showcasing UI/UX design experience.
- Solid time management and independent work skills.
- Strong communication skills with business stakeholders and executive management.
