The incumbent assists in ensuring that orders ship on time to satisfy customer requested shipping dates. This position works under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor to provide logistical support at Valmont Industries, TX. This position is responsible for all shipment processing and tracking, office procedures and other tasks as assigned by the Valmont Management team. We are looking for a highly organized individual that will perform bill of laden (BOL) typing, data entry and provides administrative support to the Shipping Department. The incumbent must demonstrate attention to detail and have the ability to influence decisions in a team environment concerning priority of workload while displaying excellent multitasking skills in a day to day basis, as well as, maintain communication with customer service, traffic schedulers, off site employees, shop employees, and office personnel regarding order information and statuses. Track shipments being processed by our galvanizing vendors

Track back order parts to ensure customer order completion

Interact with drivers, coworkers, carriers, vendors and visitors

Check in and direct drivers with incoming product or outbound loads

Submit BOL’s/packing lists to accounting after loads are shipped

Create Valmont BOL’s and copy/attach corresponding paperwork

Data Entry in Excel shipping spreadsheets

Route products on flatbed trucks and less–than-truckload (LTL) carriers to ensure orders are scheduled and invoiced correctly

Print packing list for customer orders

Receive accurate information of parts and products from production departments

Examine shipment documents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, load-lists, or packing list to verify accuracy

Support staff in assigned project-based work

Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and traffic management software

Open, answer and distribute incoming correspondence via email

Collect and maintain inventory of office supplies

Create UPS/ FEDEX labels and attach them to shipments

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Management Team

Maintain appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses, etc., necessary to perform job.

Make management aware of any training needs you have. Consult your management immediately if you are being asked to perform work for which you are not trained and/or are not comfortable doing because of potential safety or risk implications
