Job Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming raw material. Must pull samples of the raw potato before unloading the truck, examine potato for external and/or internal damage, run a fry sample in the laboratory, and then check for solid contents.
Respond to all complaints on a timely manner
Must be able to adjust packaging and seasoning equipment during the processing of the chips
Must have knowledge of the counting scales to weigh product
Inspects, weighs, tastes, and smells raw and finished material to determine spoilage and or rancid product
Determine oil, salt and moisture content of raw and finished product to meet the consumer standards
Records all inspection reports and notifies Production and Quality coordinators supervisor immediately of non conformances.
Assign lot numbers to product; specify date product was cooked, time cooked and expiration date
Run analysis in laboratory
Must be able to accurately perform and document calibration on all lab equipment and scales
Must be able to check chemical labels for content application and safety purpose; must perform a weekly chemical inventory
Be willing to learn and implement QA tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Charts, etc.
Implement and practice all Good Manufacturing Procedures with all employees
Generally perform all other duties as required
Technical skills:
High School Diploma or GED, Associate in Food Manufacturing or similar disciplines a plus
2 years experience with the food manufacturing processes and foods safety programs
Bilingual
Human abilities:
Team player
Knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, other software.
Work under pressure
Good communication skills
Organizational skills
