Work Hours/Shift:Part TimeFri 11pm-7amSat 8pm- 8amEvery weekendYou Will Be Responsible For:

Responsible for the clerical duties for the Admitting and Registration of patients.

Uses professional discretion to ensure confidentiality of information concerning employees, patients and the hospital, as outlined in hospital policies.

Protects the legal and financial standing of the hospital by obtaining appropriate signatures on consent to treat forms and required assignment of benefits forms, adhering to written policies and procedures.

Each patient service representative is cross-trained in admitting/emergency room for assistance in those areas, if needed.

Assigns diagnosis codes on accounts based on physician orders, i.e., In-Patients, Out-Patients, Short-Term Care, Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabs, etc.

Responsible for completing data entry for ancillary departments, if required.

Reviews and updates assigned reports within 24 hours of receipt, as requested.

Responsible for the financial duties for the Admitting and Registration of patients.

Collects correct data from patients while pre-registering and registering.

Obtains eligibility for patients while registering.

Meets all pre-certification requirements according to insurance specifications.

Performs all follow-up that is required (copying of i.d. cards, collection of co-pay and deductible, etc.) in a timely manner.

Ensures that the Daily – corrects errors reported on RQI.

Determines proper financial class and payor codes while establishing the estimated financial responsibility of the patient and insurance company. Communicates to the patient and/or guarantor the financial policies of the hospital.

Assesses the need for authorization while following established guidelines for each patient in order to ensure payment from payors.

Patient service representatives will assist self-pay patients in completing the patient financial questionnaire.Ensure primary care physician referral is given and recorded in log.Ensure appropriate flow of patient to nursing.Responsible for payments and valuables from patients, and acts as a cashier for the organization.

Receives cash and check payments from patients, records appropriately and puts in safe as department requires.Receives valuables from patients and puts in safe as department requires.Makes change as needed.

QualificationsWhat You Will Need:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Summary:Under the general direction of the Admitting Coordinator, performs pre-registry, insurance verification, registry, per-certification, in-house follow-up and discharge for patients to the Texas Health Huguley in a pleasant and accurate manner.
