Primary Function:iPerform routine maintenance and complex repairs on large, commercial HVAC boilers (gas-fired hot water boilers, gas-fired steam boilers, and electric-fired steam boilers), and on related systems and equipment to ensure they are working properly, efficiently, and affordably. Provide on-going technical support and guidance to assisting technicians and apprentices.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Inspect, maintain and repair all components of boiler systems and associated mechanical equipment.Perform necessary repairs to electrical circuitry, control modules, and on mechanical failures.Monitor boiler systems to ensure compliance with established safety requirements and EPA regulations.Coordinate with account managers to discuss and fully understand customer scope of service prior to assuming responsibility for new maintenance contracts.Follow preventative maintenance schedules and perform routine system maintenance and repair; including disassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly functions, fire tube maintenance, water side maintenance, boiler controls disassembly and the repair and rebuilding of controls.Monitor work performed on maintenance contracts to ensure costs remain at or below the predetermined amount.Document preventive maintenance and repair as required.Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used. Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and professional manner.Evaluate customer needs. Recommend improvement and changes in system maintenance and operation.Assist Service Sales with customer scope development, technical analysis/support for retrofits, upgrades and/or enhancements to existing equipment. Estimate time and material costs.Respond directly to customer questions, explain services provided, and provide Service Coordinator with detailed summary of related costs for billing purposes.Investigate customer complaints to help remedy the situation and promptly implement corrective measures as required. Escalate problem to next level of management when necessary.Manage the selection, ordering and delivery of supplies and equipment for boiler-related projects.Mentor/train assisting technicians and apprentices on boiler maintenance and repair. Provide technical support and guidance, and review and/or evaluate work performance, as directed.Perform all work within the confines of Brandt's safety rules and regulations.
