Position Overview

This is a mid-level position providing purchasing and inventory support to supply chain, engineering and manufacturing. The successful candidate will have a direct impact on both the company’s financial success and the sustainable energy movement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analysis and reporting on stock levels, slow moving and obsolete inventory and identifying potential scrap and resale items

Maintain physical and logical inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts

Responsible for purchasing production parts, consumables & supplies, floor stock items and oversight of vendor managed inventory

Mandatory :

High School diploma or equivalent required, course work / degree in supply chain planning, APICS or CPM preferred - applicable experience may be substituted

2-5 years’ experience in inventory management and purchasing

Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail

Knowledge of bills of materials, parent / child relationships

Ability to interpret drawings and specifications

Understanding of standard kitting & materials presentation practices

Ability to source OEM parts using internet, historical documents and engineering specifications

Preferred :

Strong Excel and data management protocols

Knowledge of automotive & transportation supply chain helpful

Basic ERP experience

Physical Demands Office environment and warehouse spaceAbility to perform moderate to heavy lifting using pallet jacksExposure to varying temperatures on regular basisConcentrated mental and visual attention for sustained periodsRepetitive hand motionsRequires walking, standing and continuous sitting for long periodsStrong visual acuity
