Seeking a Coordinator - Pulmonary/Respiratory Therapy Qualityunder the direction and supervision of the Respiratory/Pulmonary and Quality Directors and in collaboration with the Lab Director, the Respiratory Quality Management Coordinator has accountability for the Quality Assurance of the Blood Gas systems within Methodist to assure successful CAP inspections. The Respiratory Quality Management Coordinator will identify performance improvement initiatives within the department and assist leadership on the analysis of initiatives. RT Quality Management Coordinator is responsible for the performance improvement functions of evaluation, monitoring, analyzing, training, inventory control, maintaining regulatory and compliance requirements and risk management processes

What you will do in this Role:

  • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards as it relates to moderate complexity testing and assures successful CAP, ATS and TJC inspections. Monitors and provides Directors with impact of changes in regulatory environment and reviews regulatory process as appropriate.

  • Assure compliance of staff with regulatory policies and procedures with attention to NPSG, TJC, CAP, CDPH and all state/federal regulations and revises as appropriate.

  • Serves as a resource expert for staff such that their understanding of quality control requirements, standards, outcomes, results and improvement processes are addressed and recognizable to patient safety as priority

  • Collaborates with respiratory and pulmonary leadership on PI activities and progression of new processes or ideas. Collaborates with clinical nursing and medical leadership as well as Clinical Outcomes staff on PI activities. Provides quality reports based on the PDCA model with attention to variances, trends and outcomes

  • Responsible for assisting in the information gathering of clinical data and benchmarking against national, state and community standards. Responsible for analyzing the data for patterns and trends in the delivery of care and discovering root cause for specific patient care trends. Ensures integrity of data during collection period within the measurement and analyzation process and develops strategies toward improvement

  • Supports design control processes and systems that promote further innovation and service excellence

  • Operates as department safety officer to assure environmental and employee safety is maintained and prepared in a continuous readiness state

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Respiratory Therapy Degree

Preferred.

  • Two years’ or more experience in Respiratory Therapy 3. Equipment/Programs Utilized: Rapid point 500 and 1265 Blood Gas Analyzers RapidCom Data Management Software, Medi-Tech EMR and Risk Management Reports Desktop PC with MS Office 4. Competencies: Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 5.

  • Lab Background

Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:

  • Current, valid TX RCP License from TX Medical Board, RRT credential, BLS 2.

Preferred:

  • ACLS, PALS certified
