Introductory Position Open in our College Station Office

Job Description:

Software Programmer. This opening is for a junior level programmer, with proven Visual Basic and Visio skills. Applications including HTML/Java Script/REST web development knowledge and experience

will be preferred.

Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

Work on a team of programmers to develop high-end reliable applications.

Assist in the design and implementation of interfaces in accordance to end users information needs and views.

Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.

Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.

Assist in determining, enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures and standards.

Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.

Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.

Ideal candidate qualifications include:

Associates Degree in a related technical field.

1 year relevant work experience.

Experience with Visual Basic and Visual Studio required.

Proven working experience as a VB Programmer.

Visio knowledge is required.

Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.

Conscientious program documentation habits.

Excellent knowledge of data backup & recovery, logical security, network integrity and SQL queries.

Initially this is an introductory (60-day) position with the potential to move to a full-time position with benefits at the end of the 60 days.
