Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for Experienced Service/Site Reliability Specialiststo join our Cloud Data Analytics Platform Team in Seattle, WA.

The Boeing Cloud Data Analytics Platform team builds Boeing's single analytical data plane in Google Cloud Platform that serves as the foundation for data analytics capability of the company. The cloud-based infrastructure and self-services enable the company to operate in a more agile environment, responding to and anticipating analytics user and developer needs.

We are looking for passionate and talented Service/Site Reliability Specialists to join us! You will apply software development principles to improve reliability and minimize the frequency and impact of failures that can impact the overall reliability of a cloud application. If you love designing, developing and running systems and infrastructure that will help analytics developers and users, then this is the place for you!

Position Responsibilities:
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Develop and deliver creative solutions that support and enable software development and product teams across the enterprise

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
  • Experience in reliability, software development, DevOps or infrastructure
  • Knowledge or experience in designing, building or supporting reliable systems
  • Experience in Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting applications in Java
  • Experience with CI&CD (e.g. Maven, GIT , Jenkins , Helm Charts)
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair IT systems related problems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, etc
  • Experience in CloudNative databases such as Bigquery , MySQL , NoSQL
  • General experience with distributed architecture and/or high availability systems
  • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $75,600 - $140,400
