Why you'll love this job Lead Data Engineer / DBA responsible for architecture, design, development, and maintenance of a wide variety of databases platforms such as AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB using a combination of automation tools such as Jenkins Terraform and programming such as Python and/or Groovy. This person will utilize their AWS cloud computing expertise to meet the needs of business applications using cloud native tools. The ideal candidate has experience in a DBA role currently and has strong desires to learn new database platforms. Each project engagement represents a new challenge that will give you exposure to new clients, business issues, technologies, and people.

What You'll Do Develop solutions using cutting edge AWS database technologies. Provide expert level SME guidance to Infra/development teams on Aurora PostgreSQL platform Developing, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining database applications using SQL and Procedural Languages like Pg/PLSQL or other languages. Ensure Standard Compliance and Policy adherence by development teams and develop new approaches to secure application databases Adopt new feature of AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, Socialize, perform POC/POT and operationalize Explore new database products on AWS that suit business use cases, perform POC and POT Create best practices for application database developers Develop data migration plans to migrate legacy on-premises databases into AWS data stores. Work on indexing, replicating, and performing disaster recovery services across multiple AWS regions. Good understanding of traditional performance tuning approaches using EXPLAIN PLAN, Query Plan Management etc. Monitor system performance metrics to identify potential risks/issues. Good understanding of Monitoring services such as CloudWatch and Auditing tools like CloudTrail. Identify manual processes that can be automated. Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing. Document Standard Operating Procedures and KB articles for L1 & L2 teams Collaborate with Infrastructure teams during implementation of solutions. Participate in testing and quality assurance aspects of projects. Provide Level 3 post implementation production support as needed. Present and demonstrate solutions to technical and business stakeholders. Leverage skills to develop proof of concepts for projects. Contribute to overall automation framework design and enhancement. Your talents needed for success 5+ years' experience in PostgreSQL database administration and engineering 2+ years' experience on AWS Platform around automated provisioning of service 5 years' experience developing end to end automation solutions and software development and/or engineering Hands-on experience on AWS Database Migration Service Desire business application development experience in BI/Internet technology stack Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline Good understanding of database code release management tools like Liquibase or similar toolset. Development scripting experience with Python and Ruby/Groovy Experience in Agile / Scrum Experience with at least one RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase Knowledge of and experience with basic aspects of Linux system administration Experience designing, coding, implementing, and supporting Infrastructure/Operations-side automation solutions in a corporate environment Experience with Jenkins/Chef and/or Terraform is an added benefit Prefer experience with containerization technologies Degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred AWS Certified Database - Specialty preferred

Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters, or equivalent experience
