Why You'll Love This Job: Being a member of IT Governance and Assurance team, you will optimize the performance of applications, evaluate, design and work together with developers and testers to deliver robust applications. Provide technical leadership to the performance engineering team. Review requirements and specifications early in the project life cycle. Work closely with the development team during performance testing/tuning, and coordinate troubleshooting efforts. Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and bottlenecks. Evaluate, deploy, operate, and maintain performance monitoring tools. Write technical and summary reports to present results to management. Provide management with an assessment of the performance, scalability, reliability, and robustness of products before they are exposed to customers. Gain domain expertise and guide team members on technical and business knowledge.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Deliver end to end performance testing for projects independently, using Agile methodologies
  • Assist in the development of estimates, resource assignments and coordinate between teams at multiple locations to ensure on time delivery of projects
  • Review business use cases, user stories and other functional and non-functional requirements to identify key performance indicators
  • Review design documents and code to identify potential performance bottlenecks and defects
  • Prepare performance test plans, load simulators and test harnesses to thoroughly test the products against the approved specifications.
  • Develop custom tools and load simulators written in Java.
  • Analyze various components of the application (web server, application server, database, etc.), identify performance bottlenecks (at application and OS layers) and support performance tuning exercises. Defect tracking and reporting.
  • Build reusable components to automate repeatable, manual activities.

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • 5+ years of IT experience with proven expertise in performance engineering (analysis, testing, and tuning)
  • Experience developing simulators in multiple languages, such as Java, PL SQL, Python for simulating performance load.
  • Experience with performance diagnostics/monitoring tools such as DynaTrace or AppDynamics
  • Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner or custom load generation tools
  • Strong performance analysis skills, including system metrics and thread/heap dump analysis
  • Broad experience with multiple middleware and data store technologies, such as message queues, relational databases, non-relational databases, caches, stream processing, batch processing
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux operating system, especially process/system monitoring and performance measurement
  • Experience with AWS cloud services is preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and source code control/repository is a plus
  • Experience automating performance testing through a CI/CD pipeline is nice to have
  • Experience working with Agile development teams

The IT Governance and Assurance Department focus on advancing organizational goals through the effective and efficient use of IT, by ensuring IT has the necessary capabilities and controls to enhance the stability of DTCC products. The department will also be responsible for maturing core IT business management and governance capabilities.
