We are looking for an Engineer to support, troubleshoot, automate and maintain the IT Infrastructure Server environment. This includes Linux server administration, Enterprise storage management, virtualization, performance tuning, backup/restore and Automation of operational duties. The Systems Engineer will research and resolve technical problems with the Provisioning Team. This position will also help develop/improve Engineering documentation.
RedHat experience is a MUSTThe Provisioning Team is responsible for Server administration, security updates and projects relating to or needing VMs/servers that leverage multiple operating systems (Windows/RHEL) platforms. Position Responsibilities: Install and maintain enterprise class RedHat Linux, VMware systems, including the appropriate hardware, related system components including peripheral devices, SAN connectivity, O/S monitoring and performance tools as required. Administers server monitoring system which monitors not only up/down status of servers but also service, space and monitoring for various applications running on servers. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs software and hardware failure. Ensures customer satisfaction in an efficient and timely matter. Manages RedHat Liniux Server network, routing and connectivity issues across various platforms. Provides technical guidance and operational instructions to systems users. Performs server and operating system configuration and hardening. Creates and deploys standard images for servers. Implements and manages access control for various applications. Identifies and deploys required security patches. Remediates servers to bring into security standards and ensure compliance. Manages project server builds, upgrades, migrations, code deployments and patches. Prepares and maintains documentation of technologies, standards and procedures. Reviews and recommends products that will assist IT management in providing more innovative, efficient, economic and scalable solutions for business units. Resolves technical issues in a timely manner. Performs root cause analysis troubleshooting to find reason for problems and a permanent solution. Remediates security vulnerabilities by applying security hotfixes and patches to workstations and servers. Maintains regular and on-time attendance.Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, or computer-related field (or equivalent experience) required; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in an Information Technology infrastructure function 3+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux Insights, Satellite Server, PowerShell, DevOps, and Cloud computing. Proven experience administering MS Defender and SAN required; Microsoft 365, TrendMicro and Veeam preferred. Technical Skill: Strong technical skill in server, storage, network, and infrastructure administration. Demonstrate ability to develop, implement, and administer infrastructure services.
