- Collecting environment artifacts to be monitored and configuring (or ensuring configuration of) artifacts for appropriate events and alerting both on premise and on cloud
- Continual monitoring of environment artifact alerts and events through various dashboards and notification subscriptions and acting to address directly or work with lower-level support teams to drive to resolution (inclusive of root cause analysis and problem mgmt.)
- Obtain knowledge of applications and environment required to provide L1/L2 support by detailed environment and application reviews and knowledge transfer sessions with application owners.
- Reporting and providing support for complex business processes across various platforms and technology suites that may run at high frequency and across time zones
- Creation and management of lower environment L1/L2 incidents/issues via organizational standard tooling and processes and socializing appropriate statistics
- Identify opportunities to increase cloud resource efficiency and drive down cost
- Work closely with service/artifact owners to act on identified opportunities
- Drive vision and lead delivery of automation solutions to be used across the enterprise
- Maintain and increase the environment availability which is the key for testing team's success
- Builds capabilities with a vision as to the return on investment. Uses methods to demonstrate tangible business value.
- Mitigates risk by following established procedures and supervising controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
- Communicates effectively across the organization adjusting messaging based on audience.
- Maintain a library of reusable material (documents, diagrams, templates, etc.) for use in multiple efforts across DTCC.
- Minimum of 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field required; Masters preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in supporting core technologies such as Java, Web and Application servers, Message Queuing, ETL (Snowflake, DataStage, Informatica, Talend), databases both on premise and Cloud (AWS).
- Good to have java development skills / scripting knowledge and thrive to learn, eager to automate with the available tools at the organization
- Expertise in alerting and event monitoring models and technologies such as SNOW, Dynatrace and Splunk
- Proficiency in support for core AWS cloud services (Knowledge in Lambda, ECS, glue services, dockers, container, cloud watch)
- Proficiency in scheduling technologies, and how to support, such as Autosys and Mainframe CA scheduler
- Continual review of current technology suite with eye towards automation (Python or shell)
- Proved technical leadership in lower environment L1/L2 support functions
- Knowledge or experience in tools such as Autosys, DataStage, Talend and Jenkins
- Has a growth demeanor, including thinking creatively to produce creative solutions when tools do not work, partnering and working hands-on to provide solutions (automation thorough available tools) and optimally working on multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a deep understanding of Java application architecture and hands-on experience with application troubleshooting.
- knowledge of troubleshooting, automation at all software layers (e.g., UI, services, APIs, databases, etc.)
- working experience in DevOps and CI/CD Related Technologies (Jenkins, maven, bit bucket, SonarQube, nexus)
- Be able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts in a way that is easily understood by recipients of multiple backgrounds.
- Effective communicator who can be the technical spokesperson in broader architecture and technology discussions.
