We have been retained by our client in Dallas, Texas to deliver a
Software Testing QA Lead on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis. This is an opportunity for leadership and growth while managing and growing your team of talented and dedicated QA Software Testers. These are technically advanced, very sophisticated, world-class software/hardware products.The key requirements for this role are:- Manage, mentor, and coordinate a team of 3-4 manual software testing / QA team members.
- Identify risks and appropriate test coverage in order to validate new features as well as augment regression/integration tests.
- Use Azure DevOps to create, maintain, track, and execute test plans/cases.
- Install and configure machines accordingly.
- Work with the software development teams to identify issues and ensure appropriate information is attached to new defects.
- Ensures QA features are covered in test plans, test cases, and test designs, ensures each are ready for test execution for each feature release in the backlog.
- Oversee and present the QA level of effort estimates during planning meetings.
- Coordinate QA signoff and handoff to prepare for UAT or production.
- Driver for maturing formal QA processes, improving processes through metrics, ensuring QA team members are using industry-accepted best practices and ensuring quality goals are met.
- 5-7 years of QA experience testing Windows software applications.
- 4-5 years writing and executing test plans and test cases
- 2+ years of Azure DevOps (TFS/VSTS)
- 1-2+ years of leadership, supervision or management experience.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Team player, out-of-the-box thinker, and self-learner.
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Previous experience migrating test cases from one test management software to another, would be a plus. In this case, moving of test cases from any test management test tool/suite to Azure DevOps.
- Familiar with CI/CD processes.
- Understanding the role that data and metrics play in the quality space.
- Advanced hands-on experience in building automated regression testing capabilities using current technologies.
