Software Testing QA Lead on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis.

The

key requirements for this role are:

  • must have solid test case writing experience
  • must have solid experience entering test cases into Azure DevOps or Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) or Microsoft s Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps preferred.

  • Job Overview:

    Our client is seeking a

    Software Testing QA Lead that wants to be a very hands-on leader, playing an interactive role in a fast-paced environment. In addition to managing a team of three to four QA team members, the

    Software Testing QA Lead will also oversee the creation and execution of exploratory tests. Some of the

    Software Testing QA Lead s responsibilities will include estimating, planning, and coordinating testing activities around both current and upcoming software releases. A major first task will be to oversee the migration or re-writing of test plans and test cases from another system into Azure DevOps.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage, mentor, and coordinate a team of 3-4 manual software testing / QA team members.
    • Identify risks and appropriate test coverage in order to validate new features as well as augment regression/integration tests.
    • Use Azure DevOps to create, maintain, track, and execute test plans/cases.
    • Install and configure machines accordingly.
    • Work with the software development teams to identify issues and ensure appropriate information is attached to new defects.
    • Ensures QA features are covered in test plans, test cases, and test designs, ensures each are ready for test execution for each feature release in the backlog.
    • Oversee and present the QA level of effort estimates during planning meetings.
    • Coordinate QA signoff and handoff to prepare for UAT or production.
    • Driver for maturing formal QA processes, improving processes through metrics, ensuring QA team members are using industry-accepted best practices and ensuring quality goals are met.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years of QA experience testing Windows software applications.
    • 4-5 years writing and executing test plans and test cases
    • 2+ years of Azure DevOps (TFS/VSTS)
    • 1-2+ years of leadership, supervision or management experience.
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
    • Team player, out-of-the-box thinker, and self-learner.
    • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Strong time management skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience migrating test cases from one test management software to another, would be a plus. In this case, moving of test cases from any test management test tool/suite to Azure DevOps.
    • Familiar with CI/CD processes.
    • Understanding the role that data and metrics play in the quality space.
    • Advanced hands-on experience in building automated regression testing capabilities using current technologies.

    Employment Type: Regular Full-Time

    Annual Salary: $85,000 94,000 / year
