Why You'll Love This Job: Being a member of the Principal Systems Engineer (Automation) Team, the

Principal Systems Engineer (Automation) will be responsible for providing technical expertise in design and developing automation solutions across DTCC Enterprise Infrastructure including Cloud and On-Prem. You will also support key project driven initiatives, as well as operational tasks to maintain the integrity of DTCC infrastructure footprint.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop solutions using automation technologies and tools that will allow DTCC to automate its infrastructure and business application support processes.
  • Set standards for automation processes, tools, and their usage across DTCC IT operations.
  • Enable DTCC to implement the most optimal and effective operational automation solutions
  • Define the technical and business requirements that automation policies and tools must meet.
  • Maintain understanding of existing DTCC automation solutions for demonstrating the reuse of services.
  • Identify and research opportunities for converging diverse DTCC solutions to a single architecture.
  • Participate in the design, specification, and implementation of automation projects
  • Provide guidance and leadership for DTCC's operational optimization drive
  • Ability to design automation workflow for sophisticated manual processes.
  • Contribute to and support the corporate adoption of the DevOps methodology and Agile project management.
  • Maintain stability of the automation environment including scheduling and execution of system maintenance, release updates, upgrades, and/or new technology deployments.
  • Contribute to continual service improvement activities related to the operations administration

Talents Needed For Success:
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in one or more computing languages especially scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, PHP and Strong Object-Oriented programming skills in Java, Groovy
  • In depth knowledge in on-prem and cloud infrastructure covering private, hybrid and public cloud offerings and proficiency in VMware datacenter or other alternative hypervisor platforms
  • Experience in storage and network virtualization technologies, their management and automated interaction with the physical infrastructure
  • Experience with Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends and industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability
  • Experience architecting automated data center processes, including provisioning, application and patch management, monitoring and alerting, capacity monitoring and planning, execution and human approval workflow design and implementation
  • Experience using external APIs in automation code
  • Knowledge of source code and revision control systems, along with CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins
  • Experience in virtualization tools like Vagrant and Docker
  • Experience managing and working with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible) and cloud provisioning with Terraform
  • Basic understanding of statistics, data science and machine learning, with bonus points for experience with the R and SQL languages and related tools, such as Jupyter, Spark, Tableau and PowerBI
  • Strong at designing and building solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis, ECS.
  • Hands on experience in writing automation code in Python, AWS CLI, Groovy, using external APIs in automation code
