A respected and well-established Engineering and Surveying firm in the Dallas / Fort Worth area has an excellent opportunity for an PE, E.I.T. or experienced Civil 3D CAD Technician with commercial and/or residential land development experience in Texas. In this role you will work with PE's and RPLS's to manage projects and interact with clients.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience with land development and preparation of detailed drawings and/or specifications.

High Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word and Excel

Comprehensive understanding of commercial and residential land development and project management.

Aware of zoning and subdivision platting, design, and construction processes

Excellent communication skills with clients and contractors plus familiarity with state and federal regulations related to land development

PE and/or E.I.T. is preferred, but not required based on previous work experience and engineering design background

Essential Duties:

Using Auto CAD Civil 3D to develop detailed plans and specifications regarding various land development projects

Create a design plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects which include site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities

Apply civil engineering principles to assigned projects, either as a team leader or functioning independently

Lead the preparation of water quality reports and drainage studies including the associated hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.

Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports to meet regulatory requirements for construction permitting.

Prepare and review cost estimates

Coordination with Client, Consultants, and Public Agencies

May supervise project staff with the ability to mentor junior staff

The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, but past civil engineering experiences and previous engineering design background will be taken into consideration for this position. Knowledge of CAD drafting including AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required, and experience with GIS or Revit is a plus. The candidate should have mathematical aptitude, and a moderate level of knowledge regarding engineering design principals for construction projects.
