Cybersecurity Engineer Dallas, TX or Aurora, CO Full time role, onsite with significant growth potential Our client, a North American leader in Engineering and Construction is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing team. As a cybersecurity engineer on this team, you must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network. Requirements / Basic Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 year of proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer in a medium to large enterprise
- Experience in building and maintaining security systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
- Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
- Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Current knowledge of technology capabilities and trends; types, and techniques of hacking attacks in the wild
- Understanding of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model and renowned ports and services can be an added advantage
- One of five potential security-related certifications or capacity to acquire a Public Trust security clearance can be an added advantage
- Secure coding practices, ethical hacking, and threat modeling
- IDS/IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing
- Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, cloud services and information
- Identifies, analyzes, and defines system security processes, best practices, and security requirements for the organization
- Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Establishes security configurations, tests, and troubleshoots security infrastructure devices
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
- Responds to all system and/or network security events, incidents, and breaches; will serve as the Incident Response Technical Lead
- Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement
- Supervises and train operators in configuration, deployment, and sustainment of cybersecurity tools and practices
- Actively participates in change control operations to maintain established security control principles, policies, and procedures
