Project Scope: Our client has an immediate need for a Network Engineer with the following skills and experience: Responsibilities:- IP Microwave backhaul, Cisco routers/switches (Edge and Core Data Center), VoIP, QOS, wireless LANS, monitoring software, scripts and network fault and performance output.
- Providing tier II support on escalated issues within the NOC and contributing to processes and procedures for best networking practices for BNSF.
- Ensure system availability, drive recovery efforts during outages to restore service, and ensure problem management follow up for root cause analysis.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to assist with development of troubleshooting techniques and cause determination.
- Bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field OR 7+ years of experience in Network Operations
- Cisco routing and switching experience, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VoIP, QOS, load balancing, packet shaping and all wireless LAN technologies.
- Must have a CCNA or CCNP.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Willing to work in a 7x24 hour 365 day a year operation control center.
- Willing to provide rotating 24 x 7 on-call support
