  • A Bachelor's in Engineering or 5+ years of experience in production plating application focused in lean/flow manufacturing.
  • ISO 9001 experience, focused on the customer
  • Hands on experience in lean manufacturing, including analysis, design and implementation
  • General knowledge of Blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
  • Hands on planning and execution of responsibilities and directives
  • Strong technical skills (Plating, Chemistry, Vibratory Finishing, MS Office, Data Analysis, etc.)
What You'll DoThe Plating Process Engineer must be a hands-on individual familiar with the Chrome Plating production process, high energy level, career oriented, and interested in advancing our Plating process to the next level. He / she will work in a cross-functional team environment to develop processes from brainstorming conception thru final implementation on the plant floor. These projects and process improvements are key to improving capacity and capability to lower the costs of our Hard-Line products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assume overall accountability for the production costs and efficiency of the Plating department.
  • Drive safety improvements in all Plating and Wastewater Treatment areas. Promote quality, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping, and safety practices.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing methods and efficient product flow.
  • Maintain quality through all processes; reacts to quality issues with corrective actions.
  • Utilizes lean concepts to drive process improvements, data analysis, and project management.
  • Ensures strict compliance with corporate EH&S goals and compliance objectives.
  • Ensures that programs and procedures are adopted to guard against industrial accidents and protect the safety and well-being of area employees.
  • Fully support and comply with all ISO Quality and Environmental Systems and SFS objectives and projects.
  • Works closely with Quality Engineering to implement Process Controls and conducts statistical root cause analysis to identify ways to improve and maintain acceptable product quality.
  • Using lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma methodologies develops process improvements and optimal use of manufacturing resources.
  • Works with suppliers to ensure incoming quality, and equipment vendors to develop the most efficient use of capital.
  • Reduces machine down-time by developing standard work instructions for predictive/preventative maintenance. Identifies the schedule, tools, and supplies needed for proper maintenance of capital equipment.
  • Work Environment is primarily manufacturing plant floor and office.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate a three-shift operation.
