This location will supplement Vanguard's hardworking roster of advisors and advice-focused crew and offer leadership and development opportunities that continue to enable crew to best support our clients. The Enterprise Advice Technology program will advance strategic priorities of bringing the benefit of advice to millions, developing a world-class client experience, and scaling and modernizing infrastructure. The teams on this work are highly agile and empowered to analyze, define, and prioritize where we can make the biggest impact to enable the Advice platform while preparing us to support growth of Advice to millions.

Create the products that are changing an industry

We never stop working to make investing simpler and more successful for our clients. By promoting new ways of working, you'll optimize products and keep our client experience improving at an accelerated pace. As a Scrum Master you will provide agile methodology services to cross-functional teams, demonstrating an understanding of the technology-related product(s) and associated business areas. Products often have divisional implications.

In this role you will:
  • Provides insight on best practices for high performing teams in the delivery of technology-related product or projects, ensuring team actions are aligned with project goals.
  • Facilitates planning, team learning, and assists adaptation of processes to ensure the quality of team solutions.
  • Encourages a continuous learning environment to strengthen the team's understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles as they relate to technical capabilities.
  • Applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into technology-related product development.
  • Works with product owners and management to define and prioritize technology-related outcomes. Identifies trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner.
  • Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the development process to increase effectiveness of technology-related product development or architecture.
  • Leads daily scrum meetings, iteration reviews, and maintains backlogs.
  • Identifies and may remove roadblocks to technology-related product development or architecture.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Computer Science or Engineering experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three years related work experience. Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational technology projects preferred. Financial Services and technical experience preferred.
  • Scrum Master Certification strongly preferred.

  • A mediator who coaches a passionate team and helps resolve conflicts successfully, and helps the team escalate quickly

  • A technologist who understands what goes into delivering modern cloud solutions
  • A team player and leader who will collaborate with other scrum masters and help advance the discipline across the organization
