The Assistant CMT Lab Manager is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all laboratory activities to ensure work and reporting is complete, correct and on time for distribution to document control for final reporting. The Assistant CMT Lab Manager must also verify and ensure all testing is completed in accordance with the specific project requirements/ specifications and safety standards. The Assistant Lab Manager will also be responsible for tracking, inventory, and distribution of testing equipment. This responsibility is vital to performing the necessary maintenance and testing required to maintain laboratory accreditations. Must assist lab manager in creating, reviewing, logging, and distributing laboratory test reports to main office and/or clients. All work is required to be performed in a safe and professional manner.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Supervise, mentor, train and monitor materials testing field technicians and laboratory technicians.
  • Schedule and monitor daily testing schedule for prompt coverage. Review ALL field and lab test results and distribute results with Lab Manager.
  • Communicate with management, field staff and lab staff regarding laboratory testing services.
  • Prepare laboratory testing reports and report test results to applicable CQC System Manager via appropriate test reports including maintaining test result charts and tabulations.
  • Maintain laboratory in organized manner.
  • Manage day to day operations of all materials testing laboratory activities and field technician schedules and actions.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or as required by project.
