Role Description: The

Automation Engineer must have at least 7+ years of experience. The client is moving from 2 years of strong cloud migration to their next phase of cloud acceleration. Their landscape is mature and expansive but has all the normal challenges of a fast-moving large enterprise. In joining the team your focus will be on SRE however you will be part of a broader multi-disciplined team with overall responsibility for cloud resource provisioning and downstream application development team support. Primary responsibility will be supporting Azure DevOps pipelines used by the application teams. Some teams use a Jenkins/Spinnaker stack which is supported by a different team. However, the SRE work backlog is visible to both teams so there is a reputational advantage in assisting (where possible) with any urgent challenges related to that other stack. There is also a large amount of foundational (process improvement) work focused on the automation of cloud resource provisioning and application pipeline formation/governance. CI/CD system knowledge, Jenkins and Spinnaker preferred but not required.

Required Experience and Skills: - AKS - App Gateway and APIM configuration - Familiarity with NGINX or Istio - Familiarity with application telemetry collection and application monitoring - Palo Alto/firewall appliance knowledge helpful - Basics around VM configuration - Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket - ELK/ Promethe Grafana helpful but not required

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent.
