Position Summary:The Network Engineering Cloud Specialist will be responsible for architecting, configuring, and securing critical cloud network solutions. The engineer will also assist in the designing, building, and maintaining internal and external network infrastructure. Qualifications Required:- Must have 5 years of cloud experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; graduate degree preferred
- AWS, Azure, or Google certifications, AWS Certified Advanced Networking a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco technologies and internetworking concepts, protocols and methods are required
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient with project coordination to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages
- Required travel up to 5% per year
- Must be available for 24/7 for on-call support and be able to deploy changes during off-hour change control windows
- Deployment and daily maintenance of the cloud network infrastructure
- Responsible for architecting, configuring, and securing critical cloud network solutions
- Review of network systems hardening configurations based on company standards
- Participates in the planning, designing, implementation, installation, testing, supporting and maintenance of the internal and external network
- Responsible for network system quality assurance and must be consistent with installation standards and project development methodology
- Assists in preparing project budgets and unit budgets
- Obtains quotes and assists in the preparation of proposals for network equipment
- Must be able to create and maintain the configuration and procedural documentation for accuracy and usability
- Must be able to develop [improve] and implement efficient network utilization strategies
- Provide operations monitoring, documentation, and reporting systems for all network environments
- Has designed, configured, and supported AWS Cloud infrastructure services including network, security, and platform services
- Has configured VPCs, Transit Gateway, Gateway Load Balancers, Direct Connect, Private Link, VPN, and monitoring services
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) utilizing Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues accessing AWS services due to routing, security, and any other infrastructure related roadblocks
- Configured Next-Generation Firewalls and Load Balancers (Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, etc.) in a cloud environment
- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Desire to mentor, teach other team members
- Strong and effective troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of the OSI model
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Visio documentation/diagramming
- Must be able to use packet analyzer and evaluate trace files, such as Wireshark
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, applications, and utilities
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, and DNS Protocols
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMWare and VMware NSX, VMC
