PRIMARY PURPOSE
Assists physicians and nursing staff in the care and treatment of Emergency Department patients under the direction of Registered Nurse. Maintains continuous collection of data on the status of the patients and ensures the comfort and safety of patients.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education: -None.
Experience:
-Must have one (1) year of experience as an EMT-Paramedic in a MICU environment.
Equivalent Experience:
-May have equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of state experience.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
-Must be licensed as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of Texas.
-Must have current healthcare provider CPR certification from one of the following: o American Heart Association o American Red Cross Rescuer o Military Training Network.
-Must have ACLS certification
Skills or Special Abilities:
-Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel of other departments, nurses, physicians, patients and families.
-Must be able to demonstrate flexible work habits and skill at setting priorities.
-Must demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to perform a variety of assigned duties.
-Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
