Histology Technician – Dallas, TX 75229Kelly Services is currently seeking a Histology Technician for one of our clients in Dallas, TX 75229.As a Histology Technician placed with Kelly Services, you will be responsible for performing various tasks required for receiving, processing and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the PathologistAdditional Job Responsibilities:Responsible for receiving specimens
Operates instrumentation for tissue dehydration, section clearing impregnation wit paraffin, cutting tissue sections and staining slides
Prepares solutions, stains and reagents in accordance with written procedures
Records number of tissue blocks verifying proper identification and label
Assists the Pathologist in gross examination of surgical specimens and in frozen section
Responsible for setting up patient paperwork and specimens for processing, and routinely embedding, cutting and staining.
Utilizes technical skills and abilities to perform the microtomy process
Operates the microtome using settings, alignments, knife angles, and block orientation that facilitate sectioning and personnel safety.
Follows laboratory standards for slide productions; section thickness, number and type of sections.
Maintains accurate specimen identification throughout the embedding process
Job Requirements:Associate / Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2 years of related experience
Technologist level certification from the ASCP or willing to obtained within 60 days
HTL or HT certified with 2 + years of recent related experience
Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office products
Must have HT or HLT certification
Excellent communication skills and strict attention to detail will be keys to success in this role.
