Linux System Administrator/Unix System Administrator/Unix Administrator/Linux Administrator. TX/Dallas 1 Year CTH Job Description: Any cloud technology will fine AWS or azure. Must have 5+ years of experience if you are not getting 7+ years of experience. But Linux Administration should be there and have 10+ years of experience. Required Skills:
- The Linux System Administrator is responsible for the sustainment and maintenance of OS for enterprise applications.
- The Linux System Administrator must be able to, but not limited to, administering system-level procedures, establishing, and maintaining administrator accounts, and assigning or making available file permissions, system hardening, Vulnerability Management, and Authentication
- The candidate will also install, upgrades, configure, test, maintain and support system software, administer SSL public and private key encryption.
- Troubleshoot Linux based systems - Redhat, Oracle Linux, Centos, SuSe.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, and log aggregation and visualization tools (check-Mk, Nagios, centurion in particular)
- Experience with the Unix CLI, debugging tools, and network stack.
- Experience working with VM virtualization framework. (Ex: OVM)
- Experience working with Kubernetes or container-based clustering technologies.
- Experience working with Source Control Systems (git in particular)
- Hands on Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Self-hosted or PAAS based solutions like (EKS, ECS, GKE, AKS etc)
- Working knowledge with DRBD, Corosync, Pacemaker.
- Working knowledge of core networking, subnetting, Firewalls, and routing.
- Perform configurations and adjustments to enhance system performance.
- Perform automated and manual backup and restorative processes.
- Ensure security procedures are implemented and enforced utilizing tools such as TenableSC, Nessus, Syslog/Splunk.
- Proficient in configuration, troubleshooting, installation, operation, maintenance, and system administration of Multiple Linux distros such as RHEL, SLES, and Oracle.
- Demonstrate effective communications skills including strong written and oral presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain detailed documentation.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required when on call.
- Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility.
- Must be creative and can look at problems from multiple vantage points Ability to multi-task, prioritizes workload, and successfully handles competing deadlines.
- Ability to create shell programs and utility scripts
- A Bachelor's Degree is required with a minimum of 10 years of experience
- 5+ years' experience must with Linux operating systems including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years' experience with engineering, integrating, or testing production IT infrastructure platforms using Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS
- 2+ years' experience developing and improving CI/CD scripts and services for development and deployment
- Experience supporting web technologies and websites running Apache or NGINX
- Hands on experience with Azure, AWS, OCI
- Hands on experience in migrating workloads from On-prem to cloud or Cloud to Cloud using cloud native services or 3rd party solution
- Well versed with Cloud Adoption Framework, Migration Principles and Well Architected Framework
- Design and solution cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available
- Provision, configure and maintain Azure / AWS cloud using Infrastructure as code using Tools like Terraform, CloudFormation
- Ensure configuration and compliance with tools like Qualys, CrowdStrike
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
- In-depth experience with config management tools like Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, SaltStack
- Provision, Configure and Maintain services hosted on AWS / Azure / OCI
- Experience working with private registries (ECR, Docker Hub)
- Experience building Serverless and stateless architecture
- Expertise in deploying Cloud security best practices
- Desire and ability to mentor and train other engineers
